SOLAS Warning to Exporters

We would like to draw your attention to the implementation of the SOLAS mandatory requirement requiring the verification of the gross mass of packed containers prior to loading on board which becomes effective from 1st July 2016.
From that date thereon, any containerised cargo that does not have a calibrated weight declaration/certificate cannot be loaded on board any vessel at any port worldwide.
It will be the responsibility of the B/L shipper to obtain and provide a declaration of the verified gross weight and not the shipping line.
